Position Announcement
Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church
Director of Youth Discipleship
20 hours/week
$15/hour
CKPC is a Christ-centered, evangelical faith community of over 200 in attendance whose mission is to "make disciples who make disciples". We're grounded in the Reformed theological tradition, take the Bible and its study seriously and believe that all Christians are called to bring Christ to the world. We believe the Gospel calls us to a life modeled after Jesus: intimacy with the God the Father, deep personal integrity and being a transformational leader wherever life calls you.
CKPC's new Director of Youth Ministries will need to be an entrepreneur at heart. It's been three years since we've had a staff member in this area and the program has declined somewhat. Energy, enthusiasm and a little organization will go a long way, however. And while we expect our new Director of Youth Discipleship to be the primary leader of the ministry, he or she will not work alone. There exists a dedicated team of volunteers as well as a positive and supportive staff environment lead by the senior pastor. This person will be treated as a full member of the ministry team (not "just" a youth director) and will be expected to be visible in the larger congregation, occasionally taking part in Sunday worship and other non youth specific settings. It should be noted that the focus of this position for the immediate future will be middle school/junior high age, building CKPC's youth group of the future.
