Psalm 95: 1-2
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
From the very beginning, music has been a part of worship. At CKPC we strive to honor both traditional and contemporary styles, featuring a 'blended' approach to music on Sunday mornings. Our music staff has a broad range of experience and training from the very classical to playing in a well-known 90's pop band!
Whatever the style, the goal is the same: to lead worshipers in expressing their true devotion to God and to allow God to speak and move our hearts as we worship him. Below are some of the ways to get involved in music as CKPC.
The CKPC Chancel Choir is a fun group of about 30 singers that enjoy leading worship and lifting His name in song each week. All singers high school through adult are welcome to join. This non-audition choir sings a variety of styles of music, including traditional spirituals, contemporary songs and classical repetoire. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. Childcare is available. Contact Reece Sauve at email@example.com
or 360.692.5000 for more information. The Chancel Choir is open to all ages. This Choir rehearses Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm.
CKPC Praise Team
Led by Dax Baumgartner, our Praise Team helps lead the congregation through a meaningful worship experience each Sunday. They provide a contemporary flair by playing songs both old and new. They also lead the occasional Wednesday Alive Worship Service. If you have experience playing instruments or enjoy singing songs of Praise and Worship, then this may be the opportunity for you! Can't commit to every Sunday? Not a problem! Contact Dax for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
Bells of the Shepherd
The Bells of the Shepherd are a 5 octave Malmark Handbell and Chime choir for ringers in high school through adult. Whether you are a new ringer or have been playing for years, we have a spot for you! Special music is provided during worship one Sunday a month throughout the school year. Contact Diana Zegers, email@example.com
for additional information.
Central Kitsap Chorale
The Central Kitsap Chorale began its debut season in Fall of 2012. The 30+ member chorale consists of members from CKPC and other singers in the local community. The primary focus is singing and learning about various sacred choral music. Our Glory To God Concert and Messiah Sing Along
offered a performance featuring the works of Manz, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Courtney, and Lauridsen. The Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah was also presented with full orchestra and soloists. To sign up for the Fall 2013 Central Kitsap Chorale, contact Reece Sauve at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call 360.692.5000.
Volunteers on the Sound Team ensure that every aspect of the service is seen and heard. There is a rotating Sunday morning schedule and possible need for special events (funerals, weddings, etc). No rehearsals, but training is available. Contact Kiran Spees, 692-5000, for additional information.
